The hoaxes terrorising American schools

Executive producer on original investigation into hoax calls about shootings being made to American schools.

These calls are known as ‘SWAT hoaxes’ as they can require the response of a Special Weapons and Tactics, or SWAT, team, and they are increasing. There were around 70 in 2018 and closer to 450 in 2022. They are terrifying for the teachers and children involved, and surprisingly difficult to stop. This film explores one day in February 2023, when schools across Colorado experienced 17 such calls.
